Early detection of heart disease is just one of the areas of focus of a year-long, multi-media campaign that Seton Medical Center launched in October 2012 to promote early detection and disease prevention. These themes are the focus of the first-ever, 44-page, full-color Seton Health & Wellness Guide and the newly revamped Seton website. Visit the Early Detection tab for more information about early detection and prevention of heart disease.
In 2012,SetonMedicalCenterbecame a designed STEMI certification center, which means that the hospital has the highly trained staff and equipment to effectively and quickly diagnose and treat a common type of heart attack (known as ST-elevation myocardial infarction). En route to Seton, paramedics will contact the hospital and staff will be ready to provide immediate, life-saving care to heart attack patients.
